Jeremy Forsyth


Jeremy Forsyth is a criminal defense and trial attorney who began his legal career in 2010 at the San Francisco Public Defender’s Office, where he volunteered his time as a law school intern and gained his first exposure to the day-to-day practices and procedures of criminal defense work. He also volunteered at the same office in 2012 after first being admitted to the California Bar. 

Mr. Forsyth graduated from Golden Gate University School of Law in May 2011. During his legal education, Mr. Forsyth learned and practiced the trial techniques that serve as his bedrock skills: preparing a case for trial and evidentiary hearings, opening statements, witness examinations, and closing arguments. For his coursework in mock trial competition and trial advocacy, Mr. Forsyth was awarded the Certificate of Specialization in Litigation. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts in history and Spanish from the University of Oregon in 2007. 

In 2012, Mr. Forsyth founded his own criminal defense practice to gain experience as a lead trial attorney. During that time, he effectively handled hundreds of cases involving a wide range of criminal charges in courtrooms all over the Bay AreaHe has applied his trial advocacy skills to win dismissals and acquittals for his clients, and has successfully negotiated countless plea bargains. Mr. Forsyth then joined the Nieves Law Firm in 2017.

Mr. Forsyth is a member of the Alameda County Bar Association, the Contra Costa Bar Association, and California Attorneys for Criminal Justice.
