If you were arrested in West Sacramento — by the West Sacramento Police Department, the Yolo County Sheriff’s Office, or any other Yolo County agency — your court case will be heard at the Yolo County Courthouse in Woodland. Yolo County operates a single, consolidated court facility (opened in 2015) that handles all case types from across the county, including the four cities of Woodland, Davis, West Sacramento, and Winters.

The Yolo County Courthouse at 1000 Main Street in Woodland handles:

  • Criminal cases — felony and misdemeanor matters originating in West Sacramento (Criminal Division: (530) 406-6705)
  • Civil cases — Civil Division: (530) 406-6704
  • Traffic cases — Traffic Division: (530) 406-6702
  • Family law, juvenile, probate, and small claims

In-custody arraignments are held Monday through Friday at 1:30 p.m. in Department 1.

The courthouse is roughly 15 miles northwest of West Sacramento via I-5 to Woodland, or via Highway 113 from Davis. Plan for around 20-25 minutes of drive time, depending on traffic.
