The Claybank Detention Facility is one of three jails in Solano County’s correctional system, located on Claybank Road in Fairfield. It primarily houses sentenced male inmates serving county jail time, with a capacity of approximately 735. The facility opened in 2014 and operates alongside the Stanton Correctional Facility (next door at 2450 Claybank Road) and the Justice Center Detention Facility (the main intake jail at 500 Union Avenue in Fairfield). Between the three facilities, Solano County houses roughly 1,600 adult inmates serving misdemeanor and felony sentences.

If a Loved One Has Just Been Booked

Most Solano County arrests are processed through the Justice Center Detention Facility on Union Avenue first, then transferred to Claybank or Stanton based on classification. To confirm where your loved one is currently held, check the Solano County Sheriff’s online roster or call (707) 784-7100 for the Justice Center or (707) 784-7181 for Claybank.

A few things worth knowing in those first hours:

• All inmate phone calls are recorded. Don’t discuss what happened over the jail phone.
• Arraignment typically happens within 48 hours of arrest, excluding weekends and holidays. Solano County criminal cases are heard at the Solano County Hall of Justice in Fairfield.
• Calls are funded through Connect Network — set up an account online or by calling (866) 230-7761.

Bail and Release

Bail amounts are set by the Solano County bail schedule. Bail can be posted in cash or through a licensed bail bondsman. An attorney can request a bail hearing to argue for reduction or release on own recognizance (OR release). For lower-level offenses, release on a citation may be available.

Visiting Someone at Claybank

All visits must be scheduled through iwebvisit.com, where visitors register and book appointments at least 24 hours in advance. You can also call Claybank at (707) 784-7181 to register or schedule.

A few things to know:

• Inmates are allowed two 30-minute on-site visits per week, with the week starting Sunday. On-site visits are free.
• On-site video visitation at Claybank is generally available Monday through Friday; on-site video visits for Claybank inmates take place at the Stanton facility, where the video terminals are located.
• Inmates also receive one hour of free remote video visiting per week.
• Bring current government-issued photo ID. Cell phones and electronics are strictly prohibited inside the facility — violators may be fined up to $1,000.
• Check in at least 15 minutes before your appointment (30 minutes recommended).
• A parent or legal guardian may bring no more than two children and one infant; minors cannot be left unattended in the lobby.
